Went to look at a take over today from one of the nationals. Its a large town centre store over 4 floors 9500 with 6 lims, Redcare and a URN.
The system is about 20 years old but never gives a problem. So i think is it worth my while??? I was going to quote to upgrade to a Galaxy as an option and see how we go. I wont go into how much the Maintenance is worth because that is not the issue here.
Would you take on a 20 year old 9500 on basic cover for a few bob??
.
Get them signed up, stick your own controls in foc (200 quid tops?) and friggin lock it. And while you're there tell them their cctv is poo.

The 9500 was ahead of its time 20+ years ago - nowadays compared to the galaxies etc of this world it is very old hat but as already mentioned they are very reliable. Walk testing is easy - Lim by lim, testing digi (if that is fitted , again is easy. I would take it on, leave it as is until it breaks, you will have more probs when you upgrade it IMHO.
