Had comments from 3 users of the Vito van when I was considering it and each one complained about lack of value, everything is an extra and costs more than for other vans - couple said engine didn't really perform as expected.

been toying with a bigger van I'd say a renault trafic was a better design than a Vito, I've seen a few black ones running around with crew window tinted out

http://www.renault.co.uk/vans/model/traficcrewvan/product.aspx

apart from merc badge, I can no reason to pay a premuim for a "foot" hand brake & spare wheel in the load space (swb)

it you must have german a VW transporter is better than a vito

Transporter is a good option and i never even considered the Renault hmm. As for new line i wont be driving anything for a couple of month. The last of the Picaso will be going shortly and we need vans with seats to move bods around the country. Something an engineer wont mind using for PLEASURE as well as work. I sort of liked the cut of the Merc.

I was advised against the mercs by my mechanic in favour of something with the HDI engine. Direct security from Rochdale have Vitos and they have had lots of niggling problems with them, look nice but a bit of a headache i've been told.
One of my customers has the transporter as HIS car, think he prefers it from the range rover his wife drives to work.

I worked for a guy years ago who also liked the cut of the mercs, problem is they are very very basic for a lot of money.  I have a transporter and wouldn't waste my time looking at anything else.

Just watched a 5th gear comparison of Transort v Vito. Vito had bigger engine and more power. VW kicked its butt. Problem with Transporter is i can only see 5 seats. Do you have the sport? Sound mean but what does it do to the MPG?

Car/Van Upto £20k ish and its not for me 2nd user nearly new is fine. seems im back to my old ways sending a crew up and down the UK fully loaded knocking off fire &security jobs in ridiculously low hours. Sending a service bod all across S.Wales for 4 days next week and Up to My Northern chumbs the week after straight up through Scotland.
Im a sucker for RR.

regardless of the 'look' of the Vito, you sit in it not looking at it! A friend (yes I have one) has a new LWB high top Renault and has has about 4k of warranty work done on various electrical/ecu issues over the 12 months he's had it. The dealer was not very good and he never even got a loaner when it was in the workshop, he was delivering dog food in his S type for 2 weeks. VW transporter crewcab all the way imo

Sorry forgot to mention as Norm has said, Renault hate giving out loaners and never complete the works as promised!
