QFA.

Can't text, picture, 090 and anything over the monthly 300min allowance comes of the wages as per T&C's.
Once bitten and all that.
Trackers getting fitted during the next staff changeover.

How can you cap times/pictures and or texts when your engineers need to use these facilities?
Personally  I use my company provided mobile for obvious tasks. Communication to the office and our locksmith side. Pictures send to office direct for immediate actions from manufacturers. Email and web browsing, to connect to laptop for that to download software if required.
The side effect of this is I keep the phone on 24/7 even when on Holiday/bank holiday/sick leave.
Personal use is limited as I carry two phones but it is accepted I will use either for any of the above actions as they are on different networks. With no penalties.

Hell I used the company credit card to make a private purchase ( used in error i hasten to add, same bloody bank) and was rightly questioned, my answer was...i used mine to fuel the van in error last month, did you question me then?

This shows it has to work both ways, the missing word in the above debate is "trust"

We have contracts that stipulate that phones must have camera's disabled, so this is blanket across the engineering force. I have not had my own phone since starting here and don't see the point, I use it once, maybe twice per day personally as I don't have any friends.

After this if i see him using his phone for private use in work time i will warn him then fire him.
Easy as that really.

I pay him to work not to send 800+ text in a month also if he has sent 800+ texts he must have received almost that many.

Wow, that means if I worked for you and got texts and or calls from members on here it would constitute a warning and possible unemployment. When in fact i could be passing on business onto the office. Because the other good members on here had taken the time to check out my/our capabilities and use myself as the initial point of contact.

Does the contract specifically say no use of company phone for personal use?
Does it mention the phone is not to be used for incoming calls/texts other than business?

Another can of worms methinks.

cheers
