never heard of 'em, it only cause there's a story in the daily mail that they are the former "virgin mega stores" which many moons we ago we did a temp wharehouse for then whilst they open a store.

Just done the christmas shop and went in this "zavvi" as was passing, picked up "withnail and I" for £1.99  and "yes PM" for about £4.

Thats cheered me up a bit.

Zavvi has now gone..

Looks like Branson might have seen it coming and deceided to bail out, but forgot someting.

Quote
Zavvi was created last year when Sir Richard Branson sold Virgin Megastores to Zavvi's chief executive Simon Douglas reportedly for £1.

The group has 125 stores in the UK and Ireland and employs around 2,500 people.

It is thought the Virgin Group could become liable for millions of pounds of debt if Zavvi does go under as it has guaranteed the group's orders with Entertainment UK.

With all these big chains going, what's the chances they will take a national alarm company with them?  I'm not thinking of ADT or Chubb but perhaps a smaller one.

I've also heard that some mobile phone shop will be in trouble. Mobile phone sales have bombed.
