I seem to have fairly crap reception specially on R2 in my van, i didnt realise it was just my van untill recently when driving another van i noticed the reception of R2 didnt become poor where my van did. Ive had a look about on google but i havent found much about it at all. Any ideas?

Anyway in the meanwhile ive been thinking of spending a few bob on a new radio that will let me play my iphone tunes, while looking around ive found i can buy some nice kit that will let me connect usb devices and bluetooth and DAB and oooooooh the list of gadgets is impressive. So what do we know about such kit, does anyone have any opinions or advice regarding such wonderful technology?

never had an issue with the radio's in any of the Vectra's I've had, but I must say the French pieces of poo both me and the Mrs drive (pug, renault) have superb radio's. I can get local stations that are 60-70 miles away from me in the wifes car radio. Both have small roof mounted aerials also.

Found a couple of local car radio shops in Eastbourne today, one of which took the time and trouble to explain all the tech speak about car stereo's etc, no surprises the owner was a guy my age. The other shop was a young kid who just wanted to extract as much cash out of me as possible, and then we will worry about the poor reception........Knob! (Halfords was a joke, like going to McD's and asking questions about the food).

Anyway £90 for a new aerial with an amp, CD radio with smart phone capability and conversion kit  £240 fitted, decided i had no need for DAB just yet.

Must admit DAB is something I would always spec now.
About to treat myself to a 47" + TV for xmas and DAB is one of the items I want on it. Sod 3D.
My DAB radio is always on but sons nick it when here Cheesy The rock channels bless em ( So they did listen to all my Sabbath and Deep Purple collections Cheesy)

Looking at Internet, but with my existing sat box I get Iplayer ect. I used to just hook up the lappy and use the music centre for the sound.
But would be easier with an Internet TV obviously.

I think the one Im after is a Sony, only works with a £70 Sony dongle too IIRC! Although you can plug straight into your router with an RG45, and I think this is what  I'll do so the USB is free for storage to record onto etc.

Does your FIL know anyone who can neatly install a length of cat5 perhaps?
