I've posted this in the public area as it could be useful to non-trade members as well.
I was asked by a client to show them that what I had said about the method of Police response was correct (Only responding to a Type A system on verification)..... They wanted clarification because someone in the Devon & Cornwall communication room had told this client that Police response was automatic with an alarm activation and that keyholders should always wait for the Police to attend first.
Of course I knew this was bad, incorrect, misleading advise ... but proving it?
It is in the ACPO policy and is referred to in PD6662, DD243 Etc. but not in laymans terms, so I searched the net and found this:
