The missus's birthday next week and I was looking at ipods and mp3 players, I like this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-CREATIVE-ZEN-VISION-M-30GB-MP3-VIDEO-PLAYER-BLACK_W0QQitemZ290092313945QQcategoryZ73839QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

But have no idea tbh, I have a 40gb thingy I bought from argos and it holds all my mp3s and still has around 20gb left, the above does videos as well so may fill up quick though I doubt it would be used for much other han audio.

Go for the biggest you can get, they get addictive and the more you can jam on the better.
Also get the upgraded battery.
Wifi for car
list goes on

cheers

I already have a spare wifi for the car, 30gb seems fairly big (after all you cant play all the recordings at once)

I have had an Ipod Video 60GB for just over a year. 2300 tracks on it (and nothing else) have used just under 10GB! But I think the advice is right  - get the biggest you can sensibly afford.

And btw, you can quite reasonably put it down as a PORTABLE HARD DISK and reclaim the VAT. After all it can be used for the latter and you might not ever use it for recreational use at all  Grin

I was thinking that myself, Im gonna have to buy it from Dixons now I cant trust ebay to deliver in time, the prices seem to jump after 30gb I reckon I can always use my home server to backup the player then refill it with new stuff 30gb is a lot of tracks though.

If you are happy with 8GB the new Ipod Nano is a good buy.

Try this.

lol, ebay the supplier of championd. I avoid the place and the url is barred on our proxy at work.
Must admit missus Bought some take that tickets, but she has never done as she has told. Maybe marriage wasn't a great idea lol

Have to be careful buying tickets off ebay Kylie said any tickets of hers being sold on ebay will be cancelled.

Ive had some good bargains and have had one bad deal so I will continue to use it. But you have given me an idea James I will start a new thread in trade.

My wife has a ipod nano 2nd gen 8 gb which holds plenty - i got her a fm transmittor so as she can use it in the car, she loves it
Personally i just bought myself the new tom tom 910. I have put on 18 audio books (books on tapes as was), all my wife's content from her nano - approx 20 albums and i,ve still got 9 gb spare.
I use the tom tom FM transmitter so as all content is piped through my car speakers - its great.
For £380 (tom tom 910, FM transmittor + the update route due to  roadworks etc wire thingy ) i think its great value

Paul, the tomtom
Does it have fm built into it, and does all the sat nav bits come through that too? I dont know the 910 but it appears to have a hard disk in it?

its is primarily  A sat nav, the 910 is the top of the range which utilises a hard disk as opposed to its juniors which use SD card.
it also stores music and 'audible' e-books as well as the facility to control (via a wire) a ipod if you have one.
Also you can Blue tooth to a blue tooth compatable phone and the tom tom acts as a hand free kit
IT is a powerful and very nice piece of kit. Usually retails at £320 ish but a little bit of digging on the net and i got one for £289

it come with a standard dock but i invested in a FM dock (£60) = available as a tom tom extra + a RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver (The TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver gets traffic information on the go, to your GO. For the one-off cost of the receiver you can get traffic updates and let your GO reroute you around congestion) £40

I hav'nt really been on any long distance runs since i got it a few weeks ago but the rds attachment picked up and rerouted me around some local diversions (that i already knew about) so it seems to work
