I ordered a 3rd BT line for the new offices last Thursday and they said it would be done this Tuesday AM ..... No-one arrived so I rang, and they said, "No, it was arranged for Thursday AM"

This AM came and went and nothing.... At 12.10 I rang BT and they told me that AM goes up to 1PM...... "How does that work then", I asked.... "As 1PM would appear to be PM" ... anyway, he said there was still time for the engineer to arrive.... but he couldn't check as the computers were down, but he would ring me back.

... At 3pm, still no engineer and no phone call, so I rang and they said AM appointments don't necessarily mean that the engineer will come in the morning... but they would check. I was put through to a variety of different departments, I was 'lost' twice and had top phone  back... and then spoke to people who had no knowledge of earlier calls or even which department I had spoken to.

By 4PM I was told that the order had failed..... but nobody knew why.

At 5.30pm I left the office after waiting for some time for a return call.... So I guess it will all have to start again tomorrow.

.... What a bunch of first rate muppets!!!!!

Arriving home I found that I couldn't access t'internet. I tried various things but couldn't resolve it so I rang the makers of the router, D-Link. I got straight through to a technician who talked me through 'pinging' a few things and it was sorted in 2 minutes.

Well done D-Link.

Interested to know how you get on with that as someone recommended it last week. Ideal when travelling.

Now this is nice, I still hate D-Link as I think their stuff is crap, but it's nice to know that there are some people left who have people on the end of the phone who have actually heard of the products\company that they work for\services they sell.

Tried to get help with Opera Mini installation on my Blackberry this morning, went through Carphone Warehouse, their 'Geek Squad' and then Orange ... hanging on for a total of 80 mins until I gave up accepting defeat - then logged onto a Blackberry Forum in the US and found a solution that worked within a couple of minutes.
Moral of the story ... if you can't get it working locally, try a long way away!

Thanks for that. It was supposed to be 01736 366399... but one BT person said it wasn't that .... then another said it was. God knows if it is. The latest is that they are supposed to be coming on Tuesday PM.

I had a phone call today from a customer in Penzance that we are fitting a grade 3 system for next week. BT were booked to install a Redcare line today. The engineer rang from Suffolk to say he was having trouble finding them. .... Another BT foul up.

Well after 10 mins of searching im still not much further down the line, that number you gave seems to be the right one but not been able to find install order although it looks like it there somewhere , they are currently bringing in a new install system which this is one of and there have been loads of cases of customer being told different appointments to us, then we get an earful when we turn up  scared
