An ox (plural oxen), is a bovine trained as a draft animal. Oxen are commonly castrated adult male cattle (castration makes the animals more tractable),

Again I reply I do not.
Simple reason for the nickname. When younger and several friends were working on a building site, I arrived and a bet was had. Carry 4 x 112llb bags of sand/cement at once across the yard to win 20 quid.
I did, the someone then said "strong as an Ox", it stuck. Trust me it took a lot of effort and it hurt. And I am certainly not as strong as an OX

My views are mine, like them or not most often they are right. When they are wrong, you did not read the answer correctly.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
