My nephew, age 23, is looking to start in our industry.

He has no experience, but he is the right type of person. Sensible intelligent lad, non smoking, clean driving licence, good worker, very reliable, good attendance record. He currently works for HSBC & has worked for Direct line in their claims Dept..... but he wants to get into a proper trade.

If anyone can use him and would like to give him an interview, let me know.

Friends may come and go, but enemies accumulate.

He has no electrical background. Would that exclude him?

Added:    I see from the ADT site that they specifically say applicants must have sound electrical knowledge .... so that looks like a non starter. If he doesn't get any worthwhile offers, he is talking about looking for a college course, which should be achievable in Leeds.

My advice would be to get qualified as a sparky, then he can easily move over to security if he wants to later on or go into many other directions. The security trade is quite odd in that it is very knowledge specific but still relatively low paid for all but a few positions.

I left a couple of Texecom manuals with him ...... I'll check in a week whether he has studied them and I'll know then how keen he is.

As for the sparky idea... He doesn't fancy that at all. He wants to get into our industry.
