question ... do installation engineers know or don't they care how to set up anti-masking detectors on intruder alarm systems

signed ... a service engineer

is it me or how can it be that difficult .. or maybe the anti-masking ranges change significantly just after handover has been signed

i really would like to know

Microwave range on dual techs is also a good one. Can't remember the last one I changed that wasn't turned up all the way.

That the one you have to power down before you put the lid back on then power back up, else it doesn't work properly?

depending on the sensor will decide how it has been setup. some need no setup, some need calibrating and some need the bubble adjusting. seen as antimask is a grade 3 requirement there use is less than you would expect. I personally have taken over few grade 3 systems and the ones I have are usually spot on. grade 2 takeovers is a different story... different class of engineer I suppose.

Guilty as above. I adjust them to the absouloute minimum (just before they dont work) and no i dont care. If AM is a european standard tell me why we had to invent them. So if your thinking of turning over one of my G3 jobs may i sugest you use a poster about 300mm from the detector, under no circumstances try to spray said unit.

Rich they are quite good. Had to remove loads due to above problem and of course nobody knew about it at the time. Tells me that most Risco type installers dont take detector voltages.

So your saying quite good if installed correctley ?

Always thought they were lazy compare to optex  / pyronix, what was the reason they came up for about turning the microwave off when the system was unset , something to do with current draw, do they draw that much ?
