On a better note today I handed over a nice 17 zone M750 with some new Bosch 360 DT`s. Its now on a weeks test ( no not added the RED/GSM yet) at customers request as he speced the  DT`s and we want to be sure about them. So look out for a preview about them early next week.

First comments are very easy to mount and access for cables is good. Loads of space to make joints, so a very well protected junction box. Pick up seems very good yet not too grabby.

The environment they are in is a "stores" built up over the yrs but well protected against weather and humidity. No sunlight problems anticipated and certainly no insect/rodent issues.

as they say watch this space.

cheers

We used to install allot of 360 degree DTs about 6 years ago. Caused us allot of grief. False alarm rates on various models was too high for us. The only 360s we have fitted that didn't give rise to problems were the Optex SX and FX series. The main issue with 360 degree detectors seem to be humidity/heat issues and high vulnerability to small movement close to the units.

We generally avoid now.

On another note, the Bosch stuff is normally very good. However, to my knowledge they haven't produced, nor do they intend to produce a grade 3 detector. I stand to be corrected here, but I had the rep in the other day and begged him for a grade 3 Blue Line DT (Pet Tolerant if possible). He just shrugged it off claiming they didn't see the demand. Maybe, just maybe they are more interrested in their IT camera stuff!

An Anti Mask pet freindly ?? that would be a bit of technology!! the blue line is already quite clever, but adding anti mask it would be calculating size distance and exact proximity.

If they are they DS9360 and you install to instructions they should be good.
We have install 20+ to some glass houses some time ago and they have been fine. (Kiss of death now!). They were mounted to the metal cross roof supports with no bleed out for the microwave to glass.
The DS9360 is Grd. 2.

I have to back track on a comment i made about the use of joints on new system. Today i realised that i had stated we NEVER make joints on new systems. I would like to change and amend that statement as we do in fact make joints in on new systems. This involves the use of a single cable for both the F/E door and the Shunt lock, where a mechanical joint is indeed made on the spare terminals.
Sorry!

We all need to do that, so whilst magnanimous you do not need to apologise.
