Had a day out at Barry Island last Sunday, was popular when I was a kid, bit like Blackpool.  But what a shitehole it is now.
No offense to any members who live there. Definitely wont be going back though.

Had two weeks in Butlins at Barry when in last yr at primary school.
Always remember it as one of the greatest times away from parents. Obviously was polite but got away with all sorts with minimal supervision from teachers. Now you have to take out insurance and other crap just for a camping weekend in the school sports ground!

We,or a lot of us here grew up with grazed knees, broken arms/legs. Yet have not suffered from the above. Too much cotton wool now days and not enough "hands on ~" mud! and pain!

Never heard of it, but it sounds like Weston S Mare. Theres a place just up the coast from there where you used to be able to drive onto the beach.  Cars used to get stuck all the time, once they had sunk deep enough the council used to come out and cut the roof off and afaik just leave it to sink.

Weston is OK tbh, trouble is all the wheelchairs and the chavvies. I think half of the B&Bs are getting paid by social services to give'deprived' people a rest from not going to work.  lol
