My contract is up in a few weeks so i am thinking of the 16Gb iphone.

Anyone got one and if so what do you think? Would you have it over a Blackberry?

I'm not as tecky as some of you so have gone for and am awaiting arrival of my new SE C902 with the 8.1megapixel camera.
I did have a good play with a mate iphone and was impressed with the way the touch screen worked, how sliw it was and the quality of the picture quality (he had the new batman movie in it  w00t) the wifi was amazing and it was very fast and surprisingly (for me) easy to work.

Seems there is e new Palm (with proper keypad too) on the horizon. Initial reports suggest it may knock the iphone off its lofty mantle

We've just had an HTC Touch Pro and a Samsung Omnia. Been using the Touch Pro for the past 5 weeks, not much different to the HTC Kaiser I had before. Not had much time with the Omnia but it seems quiet impresive.

My contract is up in a few weeks so i am thinking of the 16Gb iphone.

Anyone got one and if so what do you think? Would you have it over a Blackberry?

I have an 8GB 3G one and it's the best thing ever!  I travel quite a lot so it's great for me - it syncs with my outlook exchange account so I get all my email/contacts/diary anywhere in the world automatically updated "over the air" - it logs onto wifi hotspots automatically (openzone I think), I download the new series of 24 from iTunes and watch that when I'm travelling, I'm learning to dive at the moment and there is a program called handbrake which you use to turn any DVD into an iTunes file, then import it into iTunes and then watch on the iPhone!  Went to London yesteday and watched DVD1 of open water course..

It does lock up every now and then (but it's doing a hell of a lot) - as long as you back it up though, it's a 30min process to reset and reload the backup - I think I've done this twice in 8ish months.

The atual user interface is fantastic and the touch screen is very nice to use with scrolling etc - it can dislay PDF's/word/excel files when sent as attachements etc which is great,  The camera isn't the best in the world and there is no flash but it's OK.

I don't pay for data in the UK because it's a personal contact but be cautious, if you take out a business contract I think you do pay for data!

What else do you want to know?

Yes, what are they like for typing out texts and emails?? Is the touch screen a problem? I know the iphone is an amazing piece of kit...but as a phone and method of emailing, is it practical?

very practical, it has a word correction type thing so if you mistype a word is automatically changes it for and it's actually very very effective..

It brings up a keyboard to type on and the accuracy is amazing.

Just got one of these dual-sim CECT phones - poor iPhone immitation and still debating whether to keep it as a 2nd phone but with my Orange Line-2 sim in one slot and a standard sim in the other it gives 3 lines on the phone!
