Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

You're born, you take poo. You get out in the world, you take more poo. You climb a little higher, you take less poo. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what poo even looks like
Dear me have you read some the comments to that newspaper article, why are there so many arseholes in the world?

Shoreham is not to far from me, I lived there for a little while, I didnt realise they had council houses there as well (Its not that type of town)
We dont know the full facts but would you do £20k worth of work for somebody without being 100% that you will be paid? I must admit I take small risks daily but always get a 50% deposit this way my costs are mostly covered.
Customer looks stupid enough to think that she would get away with it, looks the sort of person that doesn't think ahead any further than her next Giro.
I think there is more to this story, but both the builder and the customer have learnt something from it
but the idiots in the comments section have read it as he where charging the cleint that much

Who in their right mind unless they were exercising a right to buy, which she obviously cannot afford. Would build an extension/porch on a council house in the first place!
Did the builder not notice alarm bells ringing ( excuse the pun) when he did the estimate?
Doh

My views are mine, like them or not most often they are right. When they are wrong, you did not read the answer correctly.
