We use shunt locks where ever possible.

Unfortunately, we have had false alarm Police attendance:

1. Electrician at a site tried moving a personal attack button circuit ... even after I told him that he must not do so.  Then after the Police had left, he tried doing it again. On the second visit the Police were very unimpressed!

2. Guest locked in a house when the owners and other guests went out for the day. She came down from the bedroom and whoo whoo whoo. The best bit was, her husband had gone out with the others and not noticed his wife was missing. The Police saw the funny side of it.... but she didn't!

It will never be possible to remove every risk of false activation, because human error or bad judgement will always be a factor.

prox has issues in certain properties/designs. If you can start entry time with shunt and still use 6.4.5 (tag) that's my preferred way and always advise some take the tag only route but confirms take a lopt longer this way

If one of our jobs is a high risk job EG  shop with 50k worth of stock ETC we always fit shunt and prox also disable all means of conformation on entry.

thats what I mean - why you using two different means of complying ? Angus`s patented method ( part3 ) gets you police response after 30 secs - even if the customer opens the door
