It may be that when they realise that the data is available and are duplicating work manually then it may become too much of a pull...

Thinking software is probably a bit overkill in both features and price for a one door system.
Any reader giving a weigand/C&D output will work on ACT or Paxton.

For what you've described, the ACT free software will give you the reports/info the customer requires.
